Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt together. Add the milk, melted butter, egg and sugar, then whisk until the batter is smooth. Place a large frying pan over medium-high heat, reduce heat to medium and drizzle a little oil. For each pancake, place a ladleful of batter in the pan - you can cook a few at a time, depending on the size of your frying pan. Cook until bubbled appear on the surface, then flip over with a spatula and continue to cook for 1-2 minutes. Keep the pancakes warm in a low-temperature oven while you cook the remaining pancakes.
For the sauce:
To make the sauce, place the milk and chocolate in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is smooth and shiny. Serve the pancakes with warm chocolate sauce.
