Butlers Awards, Accolades & Acclamations
You’d think purveying happiness would be its own reward. And you’d be right. But we’re not such saints at Butlers that we’re oblivious to the regard of our peers. So indulge us by casting your eye over the following list of awards. It’s only here to show how proud we are of our chocolates and our cafes.
November 2011: Butlers Chocolates crowned as Irish Food & Drink Exporter of the Year!
In recognition of their excellent performance in export sales his year, premium chocolate manufacturer Butlers Chocolates were honoured as Irish Food & Drink Exporter of the year for 2011 at the Irish Export Awards.
November 2011: Irish Retail Excellence Awards
The Retail Excellence Ireland awards seek to driving excellence by recognising the best in Irish retailing. This year Butlers Chocolates were recognised in two categories; ButlersChocolates.com was shortlisted in the Website of the year category, while Butlers Chocolate Café Blanchardstown was shortlisted for the prestigious small store of the year Award 2011.
October 2011: Blas na hEireann, National Irish Food Awards
Butlers 100g Bars were winners again at this year's Blas na hEireann, Irish food awards. Butlers Dark Chocolate Bar with Crunch Mint Pieces won gold and Butlers Milk Chocolate Bar with Hazelnuts took the bronze award.
August 2011: Frontier Awards
Butlers Premium Selection has been selected as a finalist in the Star Product of the year category at the 2011 Frontier Awards. The Star Product category recognises real star quality over and above the competition, either in tapping into a new market or creating enhanced sales in an existing market and possesses all the hallmarks of a new classic.
November 2010: Retail Excellence Ireland Awards
Butlers Chocolate Cafe, Liffey Street was awarded Best Small Store in Ireland at the Retail Excellence Awards and also came 5th overall in the Top 50 Stores in Ireland. The Retail Excellence Awards seek to recognise and reward retailers deemed to deliver the highest standards in Ireland.
October 2010: Top Shop Award
Butlers Chocolate Cafe New Zealand are proud recipients of the Wellington Top Shop Award in the Food & Beverage Category, taking first position and the runner up prize.
October 2010: Blas na hÉireann, National Irish Food Awards
Butlers 100g bars win again! Butlers have scooped both Gold and Silver medals at this year's awards in Dingle. Butlers 100g Milk Chocolate Bar took Gold, while Butlers new
100g White Vanilla Bar was awarded Silver.
September 2010: Great Taste Awards
Butlers 100g Milk Chocolate Bar with Hazelnuts was awarded a Gold medal at the Great Taste Awards. This new 100g bar is an extention to the ever popular 100g bar range and brings the grand total to over 20 Great Taste Awards that have been awarded to Butlers Chocolates!
March 2010: New Zealand Entertainment Book Gold Awards 2009/2010
Butlers Chocolate Cafés were recently awarded second place in the informal dining category at the New Zealand Entertainment Book Gold Awards 2009/2010. Each year, owners of the Entertainment™ Book vote for their favourite businesses in the Book. The "Entertainment™ Gold Award Winner" logo indicates a restaurant that has been voted the most popular by their most important critic — their customers.

October 2009: Butlers Chocolates Wins Best Supplier of The Year at International Award Ceremony
Butlers Chocolates, won Best Supplier of The Year at the prominent Frontier Awards in Cannes. The Frontier Awards, which recognise excellence in the international Duty Free Market, are the world’s most prestigious travel retail awards.
An international judging panel, made up of six senior executives from across the travel retail industry, made their decision based on a variety of factors including; innovation, originality, perfect execution of concept, good business practice and strong sales results. The Best Supplier Award was sponsored by Dubai Duty Free and presented to Butlers Chocolates by the company’s Irish Managing Director, Colm McLoughlin.
Blas na hÉireann, National Irish Food Awards 2009
Butlers Chocolates has won Gold and Silver Awards in the Chocolate Category of the prestigious Blas na hEireann National Irish Food Awards. Over 800 products competed in this year’s Awards and Butlers won with two products from the company’s highly successful new range of 100G bars which were launched earlier this year.
Butlers 100g Dark Chocolate Bar with Orange and Almond took Gold Award in the Chocolate Category, while Butlers White Chocolate Bar with Mixed Berries was awarded a Silver Award.
All Ireland Marketing Awards 2009
The All Ireland Marketing Awards recognises excellence and best practice in all areas of marketing, and especially highlight the role of marketing in value creation.

Great Taste Awards
Since 2000, Butlers Chocolates have been awarded an amazing 20 Great Taste Awards for excellence in quality and taste. The Great Taste Awards are considered a benchmark for fine food across the UK and Ireland. Most recently in 2010 Butlers 100g Milk Chocolate Bar with Hazelnuts was awarded a prestigious gold medal.
FBD Retail Excellence Ireland Awards
Butlers Chocolate Cafe, Blanchardstown Centre is named by Retail Excellence Ireland as one of Ireland’s Top 50 Stores 2008!
In 2007 Butlers Chocolate Café, Cork was the proud winner of FBD Crest Retail Excellence Best Small Store Southern Region for excellence in retail design, product display, customer service and operational efficiencies.
In addition, Butlers Chocolate Café, Dublin Airport and Wicklow Street, have both been awarded the Crest Retail Excellence mark of excellence in retailing in 2002 and 2001 respectively, while Butlers Chocolate Café, Dublin Airport was also runner up in the Crest Retail Excellence Leinster Retailer of the Year 2002. Henry Street won Retail East Small Store Category in 2004 and 2005.
Bord Bia Brand Food & Drink Awards
Butlers Chocolate Cafés were awarded the esteemed Brand Marketing Award for going beyond conventional routes to develop sampling opportunities and for the advancement of the Butlers Brand.
Checkout Ireland Packaging Excellence Awards
Butlers Chocolates were awarded with a Gold medal in recognition of the quality of design and packaging used throughout the Butlers Chocolates range.
Frontier Awards
Butlers Chocolates were highly commended in the Frontier Awards, Best Partnership initiative 2002 and Butlers Famous Irish Truffles, were also short listed for Frontier Awards Star Product Short list 2001.
The Frontier Awards recognise excellence in the international Duty Free Market. Best Partnership Initiative recognises companies or organisations, often across category divide, who have worked together to grow business for all concerned. Star Product highlights a new product that is loved by customers and brought success to brand owner and retailers. The winning product must have star quality – over and above the competition and should have all the hallmarks of a new classic.
Golden Rose Award
Butlers Chocolate Café, Wicklow Street was awarded Best Dublin City Shop Front by the Dublin City Business Association, in acknowledgment of the high standard of shop front design and its positive impact on the overall look of the street.
